Packers Players Furious With Ty Montgomery for Throwing Tantrum and Disobeying Coaches

The Green Bay Packers were in excellent position to hand the Los Angeles Rams their first loss of the season on Sunday, but an inexplicable error by running back Ty Montgomery resulted in them handing the game away.

In the final minute, Gurley ran 17 yards for a key first down and stopped before reaching the end zone, allowing the Rams to run out the clock.

Thanks to an impressive 7-0 start, the Rams were early favorites over the Green Bay Packers heading into Sunday's contest, but also knew this meeting would be far from a cake walk since Aaron Rodgers is one of the best in the business for a reason.

As the Los Angeles Rams continue to enjoy their recent win over the Green Bay Packers to keep their undefeated streak alive heading into their Week 9 matchup with the New Orleans Saints, all eyes will also be on the team heading into Tuesday's National Football League trade deadline.

Montgomery declined to talk after the game, but Wilson called his fumble-forcing hit "one of the biggest collisions I've been in". I think you can ask a lot of guys in the locker room, that's not what I do.

It's a game they weren't expected to win, but one they will feel like they should've won.

Moving forward, the reputation of Ty Montgomery will include what happened in the final two minutes of the game. On 3rd-and-12 from the Arizona 38, Gurley took a handoff to the left side, gained a first down, then gave himself up after a 30-yard gain instead of charging into the end zone for what would've been the first touchdown of his career. The Rams got a go-ahead field goal on the short field, and Montgomery fumbled moments later.

"They took him out (the previous drive) for a play and he slammed his helmet and threw a fit", one Packers player said. "In my mind, I swear, if we play games like that, we're going to win a lot of games".

Montgomery denied that he threw a "tantrum" on the sideline after getting pulled from the previous series and said his frustration over his lack of playing time had nothing to do with the kick return decision. I don't really know how else to explain it. "As far as the drama, the nonsense about it, I have nothing to say". You know what that was? "I mean, it's '12"!

"That's something that we talk about, but Todd probably would've done that on his own", McVay said. "That's not the kind of person I am", said Montgomery.

"I've always been so impressed with how much an NFL football player, regardless of the teams I've been with, how much they care about not disappointing their teammate", McCarthy said.
