Pence Knocks Abrams Over Celebrity Support: 'This Ain't Hollywood, This Is Georgia'

Abrams is running on a campaign that includes Medicaid expansion, and "common-sense gun control", Winfrey noted.

Oprah Winfrey delivered a passionate stump speech Thursday for Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who is looking to become the nation's first black female governor.

Polls suggest Abrams and Kemp are deadlocked in one of the hottest matchups of the midterm elections. "Rather it lives and thrives in making sure that everybody is lifted by the community", Winfrey said.

"I'd like to remind Stacey and Oprah and Will Ferrell, I'm kind of a big deal, too", said Pence, who is not from Georgia. "I'm here today because of Stacey Abrams".

Winfrey also said she invited herself to campaign for Abrams, and had not been brought in by anybody but herself.

In another video, Winfrey said, "It's my very first time ever canvassing for anybody, and it has been a really interesting experience because when you knock on a door, you don't know what people are going to do or say or how they're going to react".

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) are still conducting their investigation into what caused Saturday's tragedy. The EFL Cup tie between Claude Puel's side and Southampton , scheduled for Tuesday, was consequently postponed.

He declared that he had "a message for all of Stacey Abrams' liberal Hollywood friends: This ain't Hollywood". But Kemp's campaign said President Trump's schedule takes precedence.

She made a decision to lend her celebrity, she said, after watching how Abrams "handles" herself "in the midst of the onslaught of hate and vitriol".

When a woman opens the door, she lets out an excited cry.

The pitches from Pence and Winfrey clearly fit Abrams' and Kemp's respective strategies. Those allegations, which are largely unfair, have brought another former president into the discussion: former Georgia governor Jimmy Carter, who amplified calls for Kemp to resign his current position. Goosing a GOP base that holds Trump and Pence in high regard is key to the approach. "And Brian Kemp is going to do just that".
