Are you experiencing difficulties with Facebook and Instagram?

Social media platform Facebook and its subsidiary services suffered a major outage across global regions for the second time this month.

Most users who are experiencing the Facebook outage report seeing an error message stating "Sorry, something went wrong".

Facebook has more than 2.2 billion active users worldwide.

Problems appear to have started just before 1pm after a brief outage early this morning.

The independent monitoring site Downdetector showed a map indicating outages affecting most parts of the world, especially in North America, Europe and Asia.

FACEBOOK and Instagram have been hit by a service outage as some users around the world report being unable to access the social networks.

Well, the social media giant is down again, along with its counterpart, Instagram. "We are investigating the issue and working on a resolution." said the company on its developer page.

Soon, Facebook was finally able to pinpoint the cause of the issue.
