Seven people were injured in a jet bridge collapse Saturday night at Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport, according to a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration.

According to the airport, preliminary information indicated that six people were taken by ambulance to hospitals with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. While medical personnel responded to the passenger outside of the airplane, the airport-owned passenger loading bridge "experienced a failure".

The department says all six people injured in the collapse were released from the hospital early Sunday.

In a statement, Southwest Airlines said Flight 822 had just arrived from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and requested paramedics to help with a medical situation involving a passenger.
