Wojnarowski adds that Davis and his agent are expected to soon make it clear that Davis (signed through the 2019-20 season) prefers to land with the Lakers (where he would sign an extension) and would be a rental player for any other acquiring team.

Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes, citing league sources, reported Monday that the Knicks plan to make their pitch for Davis.

Then when it comes time to extend Davis the Los Angeles Lakers can utilize the Bird Rights acquired via trade and the superstar trio is locked down.

A potential issue in the trade Anthony Davis reportedly wants to Los Angeles is that Lakers guard Lonzo Ball's camp has some reservations about heading to New Orleans.

The NBA trade deadline is February 7. "So that draws a lot of obviously for free agents, and I think obviously, Davis and LeBron have a very close relationship".

Some accumulations of snow are expected, while there will be widespread frost at night with icy stretches on untreated surfaces. Wednesday will continue cold with scattered wintry showers becoming isolated and mostly dry later with good sunny spells.

The Pelicans are not feeling pressure to deal Davis by February 7, ESPN reported. With news of Davis wanting out came reports that the Knicks have strong interest in trading for him.

Any Lakers trade package presented to the Pelicans would include some combination of Ingram, Hart, Kuzma, Ball and Ivica Zubac, as well as a future first-round pick or picks. Davis, who is averaging 29.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game this season, was fined $50,000 by the National Basketball Association for his public trade demand.

The 25-year-old is now out with an injury and has not played in a game since January 18.

KCP is on an expiring deal but the young trio is set to make just under $17 million next season, nearly exactly $10 million fewer than the $27.1 million that Davis will make.
