Eagles Expected To Pick Up Nick Foles’ $20 Million Option, Report Says

After unexpectedly leading the Eagles to the franchise's first championship previous year in place of injured starter Carson Wentz, Foles filled in again this past season and led the team on another unlikely playoff run. The 29-year-old has the option to "buy back" his free agency from the Eagles for $2 million, which Rapaport says is "likely".

With the Eagles working diligently to free up salary cap space, placing the franchise tag on Foles is highly unlikely. If Foles is in the top three of all free agents in annual average value, Philadelphia would be rewarded with a third round compensatory pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

- The Eagles are expected to pick up the $20 million option for quarterback Nick Foles, according to National Football League insider Ian Rapoport.

A major question mark heading into the 2019 campaign involves the reigning Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles.

But that's not enough for the young gunslinger, and he already predicted that the Chiefs will head to the Super Bowl next year. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards on Saturday.

After it was reported that the Philadelphia Eagles would let Nick Foles walk, they have reportedly chose to pick up his 2019 option.

The Eagles refused to specify any of their plans for Foles. This season, Foles threw for 1,413 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions.

Much has been made of the Eagles' quarterback situation since the conclusion of the 2018 season, but it got just a little bit clearer on Saturday. That's the simple way for the team to engineer a trade without Foles having to repay the $2 million.
