Bradley Beal is having the best season of his career this year for the Wizards.

Last week, Leonsis told WTOP the goal for the Wizards was to still make the playoffs and they wouldn't be trading Porter, Beal or Wall. But, star guard John Wall ruptured his left Achilles tendon earlier this week while recovering from a December heel surgery. This deal saves them about $3.5 million in salary for this season (Porter is owed $26 million, Parker is making $20 million and Portis about $2.5 million as he heads into restricted free agency).

In 41 games with 28 starts for the Wizards this season, Porter has averaged 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

The Philadelphia 76ers made somewhat of a splash by acquiring Tobias Harris from the Los Angeles Clippers to boost their already loaded starting five, and now the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls have gotten into the trade action as well. He has shot 36.9 percent from 3-point range.

With the Parker SF experiment failing, the only threes on the Chicago Bulls roster was rookie Chandler Hutchison and newly-acquired Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot. Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis are in. He's expected to be out for most of next season.

Parker was in and out of Chicago's rotation, averaging 14.3 points and 6.2 rebounds in 39 games.

With Portis and Parker, the Wizards acquired two players who have flashed potential but also have struggled in the National Basketball Association.

Portis is averaging 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in 24.1 minutes this season. The fifth-year veteran signed a one-year, $20 million deal with the Bulls this summer. He wasn't really a fit for former coach Fred Hoiberg's pace-and-space offense and isn't much of a defensive player - an area current coach Jim Boylen stresses.
