Apple is expected to launch the service as a premium subset of its Apple News app later this year and remains hopeful it can win over holdouts in the meantime.

Apple plans to hold a special event in March, which BuzzFeed News reported yesterday would unveil the company's grand plans for a news subscription service.

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently teased that "new services" from Apple are coming in 2019 during an interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer.

However, Apple has been holding events in March for years, so it's not entirely surprising news.

The report comes hours after The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple has run into resistance during negotiations with top news publishers over the terms of its subscription news service. However, the company has been butting heads with publishers over monetary details-Apple reportedly wants to keep 50 percent of subscription revenue from the service. The good news is there are reports that Apple plans to offer the content for free to Apple device owners.

Potential Jets target Antonio Brown demands trade from Steelers
On Tuesday Brown tweeted a goodbye to Pittsburgh, and ESPN's Adam Schefter added Brown has formally asked for a trade. If it was ever uncertain, Antonio Brown made one point abundantly clear today: He wants out of Pittsburgh.

According to the report, both the New York Times and the Washington Post have rejected deals because the terms are too poor. Headlining the gathering: That subscription news service that has been all over the news today. But apparently, this will not be the case, and instead of a hardware piece, the company will be introducing a new service.

We've heard the date of 29 March before, but in our estimations we also think that it is likely Apple will host the event closer that date, with a much leaner pre-order period.

"We believe there will be another event in April at which point we expect iPad and product announcements to be launched".

In addition, Apple wouldn't share customer data with publishers.

Apple, for its part, has not commented on the claims.
