Love Island’s Mike Thalassitis has died aged 26

The former contestant on the British dating show Love Island died on Friday, according to multiple reports. A cause of death has not been released.

Writing on Twitter, the Cleaning Up star, 37, said she had been left feeling ill by the news of the reality star's death. His name was Mike Thalassitis, and every inch of my heart goes out to his family and friends. One of the best people I've ever known taken from us far too soon, I'm heartbroken and can't put into words how much I'm gonna miss you bro!

"Everyone at ITV2 and Love Island are shocked and saddened by this bad news", a spokesperson for ITV said, "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Mike's family and friends at this very sad time".

Mike was reportedly found in a woodland near his Essex home earlier today.

He quickly raised eyebrows on the show and earned the nickname "Muggy Mike", which his co-stars have now urged people to stop using.
