Mueller report on Trump, Russia expected to be released Thursday

Those following Mueller's investigation will pore over the report's nearly 400 pages for any new disclosures of contacts between Trump's presidential campaign and Russian operatives who interfered in the 2016 election, as well as evidence that the president sought to obstruct justice by interfering in the probe.

Trump's criticism also strikes a very different tone than the White House took in the days that followed Barr's summary letter, which cleared Trump of a criminal conspiracy, though the details of the investigation remain to be seen.

Barr and his deputy, Rod J. Rosenstein, examined the obstruction evidence laid out by Mueller's team and concluded it did not rise to the level of obstruction of justice.

The Department of Justice said on Monday that Barr plans to release the redacted version of the almost 400-page report to Congress and the public on Thursday morning.

The Justice Department plans to make the redacted report available to both Congress and the public on Thursday morning, DOJ spokeswoman Kerri Kupec said Monday, according to CBS News.

Democrats immediately called for Mueller to testify and for his report to be released.

Nadler noted that Barr, before he became the country's top law enforcement official, wrote that Trump could not obstruct justice because the president "is the boss of the Justice Department and could order it around to institute an investigation, to eliminate an investigation or could not be questioned about that".

Barr has said he will release as much of the Mueller report as possible, while excluding material Mueller included from secret grand jury testimony and confidential US intelligence sources. "That is, never forget, the crime", the president tweeted. She said Barr "is the attorney general of the United States, not the attorney general of Donald Trump". Critics of the Russian Federation investigation have seized on the fact that the warrant application cited Democratic-funded opposition research, done by a former British spy, into the Trump campaign's ties to Russian Federation.

Democrats in Congress have demanded that Barr provide them with Mueller's full report - and all the evidence behind it. The color-coded report will be released to Congress and the public.
